Statement Of Purpose

The Palmetto Messenger had its beginning, with first issue being published, May 1994. The purpose of the Palmetto Messenger is as set forth in the following statements.

  1. To teach the Word of God plainly and clearly in every article.
  2. To up hold the Bible as the verbally inspired Word of God and our authority in all matters of religion.
  3. To please God rather than man.
  4. To instill in people habits of thought that promotes good morality and Christian character.
  5. To oppose error either within or without the church.
  6. To be open to discussion of Biblical questions and to hear each honest question with love for the questioner and love for the truth.
  7. To teach the truth in love.
  8. To have positive Bible centered lessons that impart faith building knowledge to the reader.
  9. Our purpose is not to be in competition with any of the number of good papers that exist within the brotherhood today, but to compliment them.
  10. Our purpose is not to be a faultfinding, negative, argumentative paper. We will not turn our backs on controversy, but refuse to make this the primary purpose of the Palmetto Messenger.
  11. With few exceptions we will use only those articles not published in other publications. Our desire is to present only original material.
